Truck Driving in the 70s Most truck drivers out there today are old enough to remember when network TV began romanticizing the trucking industry back in the 70s. Kids watching TV back then got a glimpse of good lookin’ guys chasing ladies in tight outfits down America’s highways and occasionally solving mysteries and fighting crime. BJ McKay was the king of the roadway bards back then as he cruised around in a sweet red, white & blue Kenworth tractor with his best buddy, a chimp named Bear. Traveling with vanity pets sure was popular back then, wasn’t it?

BJ was constantly getting harassed by Sheriff Lobo because he assumed that BJ was up to no good, running moonshine and so on. It got so Truck Driving in the 70s bad that BJ wasn’t even able to hire qualified truck drivers for his fleet. So he did what any smart fleet manager would do; hire a team of hot chicks to drive the big rigs, safety be damned! Things sure were fast and loose in the 70s…

Anyway, enough talk – why not watch the pilot episode of this trucking TV hit?
