Georgia Woman In Hot Water Over Double-Brokering Scam

A Georgia Grand Jury has indicted Pauline Robinson-Kirkland for running fraudulent brokerage firms and scamming several trucking companies out of thousands of dollars.
Robinson-Kirkland pleaded not guilty on six counts of fraud on July 19.
“The suit alleges that Robinson-Kirkland would use the Internet to access load boards. Then, after successfully bidding on loads, she would then contact the shippers, requesting they send her the payments for services. According to court documents, she would then re-advertise the loads using a different company name, but would not inform the trucking companies who bid on the loads that they were being double-brokered,” Land Line Magazine reported.
According to the lawsuit, Robinson-Kirkland bid on loads from 69 shippers, won the bids, then required the shippers to pay in advance. Robinson-Kirkland then re-advertised the loads on other sites for others to bid on, then didn’t pay the trucking companies who hauled the loads.
