Lindsay Lohan Rams Truck Driver in California

Lohan plays Elizabeth Taylor on film, but still hasn't watched any films on defensive driving, to our knowledge.

Truck drivers beware! Lindsay Lohan is still on the streets in a fast car with a short attention span. TMZ says Lindsay Lohan was in a pretty serious car accident today. She’s been hospitalized, but reportedly appears to be okay.

Lindsay Lohan was driving her black Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica when it slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler around noon. The Porsche is totaled. The passenger window was shattered and the bumper was fully off her car.

Lindsay, who is currently filming Liz & Dick as Elizabeth Taylor, is reportedly saying that the accident wasn’t her fault because the 18-wheeler cut her off.

Neither Lindsay nor the truck driver were under the influence of alcohol. Lindsay’s assistant was in the passenger’s seat, and witnesses said they both looked bruised and bloody. The assistant was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but Lindsay was transported to the ER in another vehicle.

TRUCK DRIVER STORY, PART 2:
Lohan claimed the truck driver cut her off. The trucker fired off a rebuttal denying every word, which made the police look a bit closer at the events. Then Lohan did something really stupid – she changed her story. NOW she says that the brakes in her rented Porsche sports car failed and caused her to wreck into the truck driver’s payload, demolishing the front end of the vehicle. This caused the police to take pause, so Porsche decided to step in and run some authorized tests. Wouldn’t you know, it seems the car’s brake system works perfectly and police now feel that this corroborates the truck driver’s initial claims that he was hit by Lohan at high speed while she was driving recklessly. Nahhhh. Really?

Where I come from in most cases when someone slams into the back of another vehicle it is automatically the fault of the driver who rearended the other. Slow down, pay attention, get off the damn phone and share the
road! I don’t care if you are Lindsay Lohan or the President, driving is a responsibility not a right! If us trucks stopped moving for 24 hrs your local stores would run out of what you think of as normal everyday items.

How can you possibly hit the rear end of a truck? oh I know..by being a retard playing with your phone..playing with your radio..texting..daydreaming..ive actually seen people not even in the drivers seat driving..their body twisted to the back feeding their child..wtf? and they try and blame us..and well we get screwed and get the blame for crap that is not our fault..pick a day to stop brothers..im down! pull em all over and sit..pick a spokesman to convey our demands. make a change for the hardworking men and women that put their lives in danger daily..battling snow, ice, torrential downpours, tornadoes, hurricanes, blasting wind, mountains, shippers..until we get the respect we deserve on the road shameful stories like this will continue..”If there is no struggle, there is no progress”.

yep..maybe we should all stop for a few days in protest of the laws..the biased slanted judgement thrown down on us by bleeding heart dipsh1ts..i always do my best to “protect” 4 wheelers and make double sure I’m not doing anything to harm them..only to watch some douchebag when I have to get over for a cop or a broke down trucker with a repairguy laying on the fkin street trying to fix his rig..endangering his life so they can get their makeup and well..everything on time speed up in the lane to try to force me to not be able to make a lane change when my signal came on it was all clear..he speeds up 20 mph instantly to close the space..fk them..im tired of bringing stuff endangering our lives dealing with infantile irresponsible..no accountability minds..maybe we should stop..we get paid well not enough..i been driving truck for 14 years now..we need to make a stand on alot of issues..they depend on us and so far we have been the bitches..maybe its time they figure out who the real bitches are! I propose a set date of stoppage..all the truckers gathering together all across the usa. Lets do something about it!

it’s too easy to blame someone else for one’s actions. In this case, as with many, a trucker is to blame(not) and as a CDL holder you are guilty untill proven innocent. I was running I-480 around Cleveland one day and got to witness a bad accident up close and almost personal. As I’m leaning against my truck talking with the officer on scene his Sergeant arrived and immediately walked up and got in my face demanding I explain myself and my actions for “causing this here wreck.” I just watched as the officer got in his Sergeants face and basically “told him off”.

i was told by a state trooper once..”we have to make it appear the truck drivers fault..you are “professional drivers” and have to assume the risk” is their any other job on the planet where you are automatically wrong? Or scrutinized to the point of the absurd? Its like if you work in a factory..your forklift battery dies..so they arrest you..give you 5 tickets and ruin your career..I love driving truck..its my blood..but if we dont do something it will just get worse..anyone who steps into any vehicle in my humble opinion becomes a professional driver..acknowledging the fact that other people lives are at stake with their actions and should be held accountable. Im all for safety..i train people to be safe..let the 4 wheelers be stupid..EXPECT THEM TO DO DUMB ASS SHIT..i tell every student that..give them room..but seriously..most drivers are decent and will give you some room and be safe..but some..wow..seriously?? i cant believe you just did that..or expect me to slam on my brakes when they try to “merge” onto the highway expecting the universe to part for them because theyre to busy on the phone to look..next hometime..im getting a day/night surveillance 2 camera outdoor setup..its 178$ records to hard disc..

Mike Miller Although I’m not a truck driver myself (my dad is though) I have all the respect in the world for you guys doing what you do every day, and how you have to put up with so many idiots all the time. Just please remember that there are some “4 wheelers” out there that are very respectful and courteous to truckers while on the road.

It always the driver fault of any commercial vehicle cars always play with trucks and buses including school buses. I drive a school bus People always on the phone texting or trying to keep the sun out of there eyes which they ride next to you. Plus they never Yield or don’t leave enough space following the other car while trying to get on the interstate. People don’t realize the weight of the vehicle and what it can do. I always watch my tail when ready to change lanes as soon as the turn signal comes on for a lane change they cut you off from behind there a lot of blind spots on a commercial vehicle. I know I have 17 different blind spots on a school bus. I don’t think it was the truckers fault she sped up in the middle of the lane change due to the fact she did not want to be behind him.
A lot of times I slow down due to the fact the car is riding next to me with my signal on they slow down to, then I speed up and they speed up along with my right turn signal on, one time I had to put my hazards on to warn drivers because the car was playing around with me which I had slowed down to 20 mph from a 55 mph speed limit in order to get over to the right lane my exit was 2 miles ahead I finally got over but if I couldn’t I would have to take the next exit.

My step father was a truck driver & he taught us how to drive, so we learned all the trucker (& bus driver) ettiquette & just plain good sense…the blind spots, the hot brakes, the weight behind these vehicles trying to stop. That should be a pre-requisite of getting a license.

daughter of a truck driver. I agree with everything you guys said. My dad also taught me a lot about driving that only a trucker knows. I have respect for what they go through and deal with every day on the road. Many people are ignorant out there. He made it perfectly clear never stay along side a truck due to blind spots and shit flying off the truck…if you’re going to pass then do it quickly and it takes time for the truck to slow down and or stop, never cut a truck off, are just a few…. be safe and smart Jeff the idiots on the road will always be there oxoxo

It doesn’t look to me like the truck driver cut her off,damage to the car goes all the way across,you would think damage would be up t half of the side she was cut off from.Enlarge photo,it’s all the way across.Her so called assistant is going to say what ever his or her Loony Lohan boss tells them to say or they’re out of a job. It is easier t ruin a truck drivers life and play with their livelyhood than to put a dent in the life of a Movie star,and none of her movies were ever all that. Hey it happened to me on I-90 east by Hampshire Illinois, I was moving over for Road Workers on the right shoulder, I turned on my Left turn signal the other Guy was two Truck length in back of me in the Hammer lane…When He saw my turn signal I watched the front of Him Chevy Trailblazer jump, usually when we get in our lane People in 4 wheelers back out of it…Not this Guy , He rammed the back of the Trailer…Now where I come from, you rearend someone it’s your fault…Not that Day, Illinois State Police blamed me …The Company paid Him off, and He was fine…The funny four Days before that , I hit the One Million mile Accident free mark…In my opinion the Class A CDL is nothing more than License to Babysit the rest of the Motoring Public.. It’s amazing

Why is it always the truck drivers fault? I am a truck driver and I see people talking on cell phones and texting all the time but I don’t see any form of government making this against the law. Are we allowed as truck drivers to call in to the Police Dept. and report this? 18 wheeler drivers and companies are under 24 hour scrutiny, and constant inspections, like the 72 hour blitz that has been happening across the nation. Why aren’t cars done the same way, instead of just once every year? I see “4 wheelers” everyday that shouldn’t be on the road, drivers with no license, no insurance but yet they are still allowed to drive. Just like this alcoholic, drug addict Lindsay Lohan, who shouldn’t have a license, and shouldn’t be in movies, because she can’t act, and isn’t worth the time.

EXACTLY. I had a lady come over on me a couple times on my motorcycle. What was she doing? Texting. Texting is against the law where I live and was the first state to pass the law. I was in my Jeep one day on the 5 south on my way to a buddies house. Girl kept weaving into my lane. I got up next to her and he face was buried in her phone. I dropped my Jeep into neutral and smacked the gas to the floor (I have o exhaust from the cat back). She swerved into the center divider and totaled her car. She then blamed me for the accident. The cop gave her a ticket for texting while driving, impeding traffic (40 in the fast lane), excessive use of the fast lane, and wreckless driving.

Curtis, you can call it in all you want but they’re not going to do anything about it. A truck driver myself one day on I-55 in Mississippi I had a car 4 times try to drive up under my trailer, he ran a few cars off the road and himself went off the road twice and came back. I called 911 to be told, “OK thank you sir I will log it in the day’s report.”

It’s an established fact that truck drivers are rarely the actual cause of 4-wheeler/ truck accidents. It’s as low as 18% year after year.
