OOIDA Protests Mexican Carrier Cross-Border Application

OOIDA has protested the application of a cross-border carrier based in Chihuahua, Mexico, because OOIDA states that the carrier has not properly disclosed its affiliations with other FMCSA-registerd carriers.
“In a letter to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator Anne Ferro, OOIDA President Jim Johnston urged the FMCSA to deny the application of GCC Transporte S.A. DE C.V. based on several factors,” Land Line Magazine reported.
The company, GCC Transport, is required to list all FMCSA-registered carriers it has had affiliations with in the past three years. According to OOIDA, GCC stated that its affiliates were not applicable.
Land Line reported, “OOIDA has identified as many as five registered motor carriers who appear to be affiliated with GCC through its parent company,” Johnston wrote.
