Hero Truck Driver Intervenes, Prevents Possible Accidents

Published:

Hero Truck Driver Intervenes, Prevents Possible Accidents James Aton, 35, was driving along North Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania, when he noticed a man banging on the door of a slow moving tanker driven by an unresponsive truck driver.

The tanker was traveling at 4-5 mph in heavy, slow moving traffic.

Aton stopped his own truck and ran up to the slow moving truck and climbed into the cab.  He then steered the truck off the road and contacted authorities.

Sadly, a Cetronia Medical Examiner pronounced the tanker truck driver– 59-year-old Richard Cecil Cole, of Avondale, Pennsylvania– dead shortly later, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

Although Aton was unable to save Cole’s life, he is still a hero. His willingness to intervene and pull the unattended truck off the road no doubt prevented an accident.

Truck drivers are everyday heroes.  Truckers rule!
