Loyal Pit Bull Grieves His Companion’s Death

A female pit bull was struck by a car and killed in Phoenix, Arizona. Her companion, a male pit bull, refused to leave her side.
For more than 18 hours, the two dogs lie on the side of the road before workers collected the deceased dog’s body and took the male to the pound. A local business owner sat out food and water for the grieving dog.
Workers at the pound believe the dogs had a home, as the male was wearing a harness, but the owner has not yet collected the dog.
This video is the second featuring a loyal pit bull to go viral in the past month, and the third major news story about pit bulls in recent weeks. The first video to go viral this month was of Lily, the pit bull who covered her owner’s body with her own and was struck by a train. Ohio’s new bill declaring pit bulls no longer a threat also caught national attention, and has pit bull lovers across the country rejoicing.
