Film Director Tony Scott Found DeadTony Scott, the director of some of the top-grossing action films of all time, including Top Gun, True Romance, Days Of Thunder, Crimson Tide and Man on Fire has died after jumping from a bridge in San Pedro, California.

Lt. Tim Nordquist of the Los Angeles Police Department told The Associated Press that several 911 calls were made around 12:35 p.m. on Sunday to report that someone had jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which connects the San Pedro district of Los Anges to Terminal Island. Lt. Nordquist said that a police dive team was dispatched and retrieved Mr. Scott’s body, which was transported to the county coroner’s office.

There is much more that could and will be be said about the director, his work, and his influence, but Scott’s decision supposedly was the result of a long battle with clinical depression.

Scott is survived by his wife, two children and his brother, another Hollywood icon, Ridley Scott.

He was 68.
