There are extreme sports that involve jumping over ramps or flipping yourself over a plank of wood…and then there are EXTREME SPORTS. Like, “How did that guy survive what he just did?” Those kind.
Today, we have an example of the latter.
This video features professional skiiers Matthias Giraud and Stefan Laude. The two decided to try to outrun a massive avalanche in the French Alps after they launched off of a cliff side, not exactly knowing what would come next. They may survive, they may die in a faulty parachute deployment, they may actually be able to land, only to have 500 tons of snow crash over them. Eh, all in a day’s work.
This is another video in the series of GoPro POV videos that people send in doing extremely crazy or cool things. We’ve featured people filming super fast dragster runs from inside the cockpit, jumping off of bridges hundreds of feet high, flying through mountain ranges with only a couple of fabric wings to steer themselves and more.
The GoPro HD Video Camera has become quite a favorite among athletes and daredevils, since they can be strapped to anything, they create beautiful quality video, and they can take a knock or two. We know we love ours.
So, without further ado – let’s see the footage. Enjoy, truck drivers!
