Dash Cam Footage Of Missouri Highway Shooting Released

Published:

This shocking dash cam footage of a highway shooting has recently been released!

A 42-year-old Kansas City man, Alan Hampton (who was strung out on meth and armed at the time of the incident) has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for dragging a Missouri State Trooper down the road with his car on July 8th, 2012.

Highway Patrol Corporal Cody Dunfee had pulled Hampton over for driving 86 mph in a 65 mph zone on Missouri 152 (Eastbound, near I-435). Dunfee approached Hampton’s vehicle, and noticed a black square object attached to the waistband of the driver. According to Dunfee, “I kind of figured that he was trying to hide something in the car. I didn’t know what it was at the time.” Dunfee ordered Hampton to show his hands, and Hampton refused – reaching for the object.

Seconds later, Dunfee pulled his handgun, and the driver (Hampton) sped away while Dunfee held on to the door of the Chevrolet Malibu.

Dunfee said, “It happened so quick and to this day I still don’t know why I more or less dove into that car.”

While the patrolman was being dragged, he was able to shoot Hampton twice in the leg and hand before the car came to a stop.
