Part 1: Top 10 Truck Stops in the U.S.

Published:

Several times over the last year, we’ve asked you to tell us about your favorite truck stop.  Not surprisingly, the small mom  and pop truck stops came out on top and the larger, chain stops landed at the bottom of the list.

We’ve taken all the information you have provided us with and compiled this list of the top truck stops in the United States.

Many things factor into what makes a truck stop great: food, service, cleanliness and parking… just to name a few.

So here are your top 10 picks for best truck stop:

1. Jubitz Travel Center

Portlander Inn and MarketPlace

I-5, Exit 307
Portland, OR

For more than 60 years, the folks at Jubitz have been working hard to help drives feel at home while on the road.  If you’re tired of sleeping in your bunk and want to kick back in a jacuzzi, drivers have the option of checking in one of the hotel’s upscale rooms.  While you’re there and want to treat yourself to dinner and a movie, grab a bite at the  Cascade Grill Restaurant then head on over to the Portlander Cinema for a $3.00 movie!

Even if you plan to stay in your truck, there’s still much for you to enjoy like free wifi, an arcade, live music in the Ponderosa Lounge , play a game of pool and you can still go catch a movie.  If you don’t want a formal dining experience, grab a sandwich at Moe’s Deli or head on over to Club 307 for  full beverage service and Oregon Lottery poker and on-line slots gaming entertainment.

And parking! The parking is great.

Jubitz offers 15 acres of fully-lighted, paved and striped parking. Our parking lot layout maximizes pull-through parking opportunities, and includes a separate area for bobtail units. We feature 18 premium parking spaces that allow trailer drops, and have close proximity to all services. 35 no-idling electrified parking spots are serviced by Shorepower with plug-in electrical service.

Free Wi-Fi service is available in the truck parking lot.  Premium Wi-Fi is available at $4.95 for 24 hrs., offering more bandwidth for audio or video streaming and large file downloads.

Trailer drops are also allowed in the parking lot while having your truck serviced at the Jubitz AMBEST Service Center.

All Jubitz parking areas are patrolled 24 hours a day by Jubitz Security services to guarantee you a restful time.

The Almo showed up over and over again in our polls as a driver favorite.  The Alamo offers 20 acres of parking, a casino and a hotel! Before you hit the casino for the “Trucker Special,” a $1.00 slot game play for drivers only, get your hair cut at the on-site salon.  If you want to get out of your cab for a night, grab a room at the on-site Super 8, where you can relax and go for a swim, enjoy the hot tub or just kick back and relax.

3. Porky’s South of the Border
