Video: Truck Goes Airborne After Trying To Avoid Hitting A Car

Published:

A video showing a terrifying truck crash in Indiana has gone viral today.

The wreck was caught on truck driver Benny Wright’s dash camera.

Though the date stamp on the video says the accident occurred some time ago, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon in Greensburg, Indiana.

According to the Indy Star, the truck driver, Ryan T. Young, 30, and his 7-year-old son, were driving on Interstate 74 when Young suddenly had to swerve to avoid a car that had drifted into his lane.  Young’s truck ran up an embankment and flew across the road.

A press release from Decatur County describes the accident, “Ryan T. Young of Owenton, KY was eastbound on I-74 approaching exit 132 when another vehicle began drifting into his lane. Young told S/Tpr. Noah he swerved to avoid the other vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate where the semi ran up a hill then through the guardrail.

“The semi then continued eastbound as it “ramped” the U.S. 421 interchange before striking another guardrail tearing off the fuel tanks causing the fuel to ignite. Young suffered some minor facial and head injuries and his seven year old son (name not known) who was a passenger in the semi, suffered only a few scratches.”

The two were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The crash is under investigation.
