Best Breakfast In Tucson Located In Truck Stop

Published:

If you ever drive on I-10 through Arizona, there’s a truck stop restaurant off exit 268 that recently won an award for the best breakfast in Tucson.

Omar’s Hi-Way Chef Restaurant, a long-time diner located within the Triple T Truck Stop on 5451 East Benson Highway, recently took the top spot in Caliente’s Breakfast Madness competition.

To reach the top spot of the competition, Omar’s employees had to work hard to rally votes of their customers, friends and family to beat out five other area restaurants during five rounds of a grueling online competition.

The restaurant, which has been in business nearly 60 years, boasts an extensive breakfast menu served 24 hours a day, and has a loyal band of devoted diners, many of which are truck drivers.

If you make your way over there, try “The Trucker” –  3 eggs any style with a 6-ounce prime rib steak or Omar’s signature dish “Omar’s Favorite,” which comes with cheese enchiladas, three eggs cooked to order, shredded beef, rice and beans.

For dessert, why not order their delectable and famous deep-dish apple pie, which has landed them on the Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise” series and The Food Network’s “Top 5.”

Check out Omar’s menu and other information on their website at www.omarshiwaychef.com.
