CVTA, Truck Driver School Association, Warns of Recruiting Scam

Published:

SCAM ALERT: According to the Commercial Vehicle Training Association, for the past two weeks, a person identifying himself as Larry Davis has been calling CDL schools claiming to be a recruiter for Knight Transportation.

‘Larry Davis’ has been collecting the names of students from the schools, contacting the students and offering them a trainer in exchange for $200.

CVTA says several CDL students have been victimized by the scam.

A student in Florida has already filed a police report, but he wanted to alert other CDL students of the scam.

CVTA says there is no ‘Larry Davis’ employed at Knight.  Knight says they do not charge students for training.

This scam is fairly common.  Should a recruiter ever contact you and request money, please contact the carrier the recruiter says he or she is representing.
