Driver Killed While Trying to Jump From Truck During Crash

A thirty-year-old truck driver from Texas was killed when he jumped from his truck as it was going over an embankment.

The accident occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 8:15 a.m., near Silverton, Colorado.

According to the the Durango Herald, the truck was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 550, when it went “off the left side of the road on a sharp right turn.”

As the truck was heading down the embankment, the driver jumped out and was hit by the truck’s rear wheels.

The driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene.

There is no further information available at this time.
