Entrance From West O Street to I-80 in Nebraska To Permanently Close

Published:

Drivers headed through Lincoln, Nebraska on West O Street may have to adjust their route a bit if they plan on exiting onto westbound I-80, as the U.S. 6 entrance onto the highway will be permanently shut down starting Thursday.

After the ramp closes, drivers can get to westbound I-80 via the Northwest 48th Street interchange, about a mile west.

The eastbound I-80 exit ramp to West O Street (Exit 396) will also disappear next year, according to developers. At that point, eastbound drivers will have to use the same Northwest 48th Street interchange.

The Nebraska Department of Roads are closing the ramps as a part of an ongoing expansion of the interstate from four to six lanes.
