Armored Truck Driver Robbed At Gunpoint In Queens

Published:

An armored truck driver (for GardaWorld) was robbed at gunpoint last week while picking up money in Queens, New York.

The robbery occurred around noon last Friday, January 31st in Elmhurst on Broadway in the HSBC Bank. When the driver was leaving the bank, he was held at gunpoint by three men (who appeared to have either been Asian or Hispanic). As the suspects ran from the scene, they sprayed the guard with mace, and headed west (down Broadway) making a getaway with the cash. The men were wearing winter clothing, and left the area in a dirty black or blue Ford Explorer – it was missing it’s front license plate. GardaWorld has offered a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the capture and arrest of the robbers, and the recovery of the missing funds. The reward money will be allocated, and divided at the discretion of GardaWorld).

Anyone who may have any information regarding the theft or the missing finds is asked to contact the FBI at 212.384.1000.
