Florida Authorities Looking for Truck Involved in I-95 Crash

Published:

Authorities in Florida are searching for a truck involved in a hit-and-run accident in Boac Raton, Florida.

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on southbound I-95, south of Glades Road.

According to the Palm Beach Post, the truck driver attempted to change lanes and struck a 1998 Honda Accord.  The Accord driver lost control and veered across the highway and struck an SUV.

The Accord then left the roadway and went onto the shoulder, through a fence and crashed into an electric pole.

“That collision sparked a small brush fire and caused power lines to hang over the north and southbound lanes,” the Palm Beach Post reported.

The crash and subsequent brush fire closed I-95 for several hours.

The Accord driver was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. The SUV driver was not injured.

The truck driver did not stop.

There is no information regarding the truck’s description at this time.

Police are asking anyone who might have witnessed the crash to contact the FHP at 54-837-4012.
