Logging Truck Driver Survives Train Accident

Published:

Logging truck driver, Roberto Febles, was hospitalized Wendesday morning after colliding with a train at Moriczville Lane and State Road 39 around 9:50 a.m. near Plant City, Florida.

According to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue team, Febles had been headed west with a load of logs when he crossed the tracks, failing to notice the southbound train.

The train slammed into the right side of the truck, wrapping the cab around the front of the CXS engine.

The logging truck was dragged nearly 1,000 feet, dumping logs as it went.

Fortunately, Febles only received minor injuries and was quickly extricated from the cab.

Though the tracks had no lights or crossing arms, it was marked with a “RR Crossing” sign. The train was not derailed by the accident. At this time, no charges have been filed.
