Results of Nebraska State Patrol Surprise CMV Inspection

Published:

On Tuesday, the Nebraska State Patrol performed a surprise CMV inspection blitz.

According to KNOP, the NSP focused their efforts on trucks that  work on construction sites and don’t typical run OTR.

“We are targeting trucks that work construction sites and normally don’t get out on the road for a long distance. Those are the trucks that we are looking harder at today,” NSP Carrier Enforcement Division Lieutenant Dan Reins told KNOP.

“We are doing level one inspections which is a check of the brake system, the lighting, make sure that the driver is properly licensed to drive that truck, make sure the tires have tread on them and are in good shape and suitable for the roadway,” Reins said.

Approximately thirty officials with the NSP’s Metropolitan Aggressive and Preventative Selective Team conducted the inspections.

In total, 59 trucks were inspected, 168 violations were found, and 21 trucks were ordered OOS.
