TravelCenters Collects $5,260 in Donations for St. Christopher Fund

Published:

TravelCenters collected $5,260 in donations  for the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund.

A majority of the donations were collected at the TA and Petro booth at the Mid-America Trucking Shown in Louisville, Kentucky last month. Employees of the TravelCenters also held fundraising events to raise the money.

The St. Christopher Fund  is a non-profit organization that gives direct assistance to professional drivers whose medical problems lead to financial hardship.

TA and Petro also does a nationwide fundraising campaign at all of their locations to collect funds for the charity. In 2013 the Harborcreek, Pennsylvania location raised the most money with nearly $7,500. Team members from the Hardborcreek location were at the truck show to collect donations and inform people on the St. Christopher Fund.

“I continue to be amazed by the generosity of all the TA and Petro customers and employees who have made this possible, especially the TA Harborcreek team,” said Dr. Donna Kennedy, executive director of the SCF. “To date, we have helped nearly 1,000 professional drivers with financial assistance with utility bills, mortgage payments and other monthly bills, paying out nearly $615,000, thanks to these generous donations that make it possible to help those in need,” she added.

TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters), headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, is a travel center business in 43 states and Canada operating under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers brands with 249 convenient full-service locations off interstate highway exits.
