According to WFMZ, Pennsylvania authorities believe a trucks’s cut air hose might have been a part of a scam.
The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 10:00 p.m. at the Wawa store located at 7572 Schantz Rd in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Barr-Nunn driver Norman Gingras parked his truck in the convenience store’s parking lot. As he attempted to leave, he heard an air leak coming from the back of the truck.
Gingras said his truck was parked next to a U-Haul van. A man got out of the U-Haul and approached Gingras, offered to help, and told him he could fix the leak. The man said he had the necessary parts in his U-Haul. The man then gave him two phone numbers to a repair service he works for.
Gingras found the source of the air leak and said it looked like the air lines had been cut. He then went back into the convenience store and noticed the employees and phone police.
The man in the van allegedly fled the scene.
Authorities arrived and inspected the air hose and came to the same determination Gingras had– The appeared that the air hose had been cut.
Police are looking for the U-Haul driver.
“He’s described as a white man who stands six feet tall and weighs about 250 pounds. He’s in his late 50s with short salt and pepper hair and dark-rimmed glasses. Anyone with information should call Upper Macungie police,” WFMZ reported.
