Fox 2 News Headlines

On Saturday, at approximately 4:45 a.m., a truck driver was struck and killed in Michigan.

The incident occurred on the shoulder of northbound I-75, near Walton Boulevard, in Auburn Hills.

The truck driver, Ernest Carter, 55, had reportedly gotten out of his truck to check a taillight on his trailer.

“He told his wife, ‘Let me call you back a little later. I’m going to check on the lights,’ and we think at that time he was walking back or returning back from checking the tail lights of his trailer that weren’t working, and he was struck by a car,” says Auburn Hills Police Lt. Ryan Gagnon.

The driver who struck Carter did not stop.

Auburn Hills Police Department believes Carter was struck by a silver 2013 Ford Focus, Titanium Edition.  The car may have damage to the passenger-side grill and/or mirror.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Auburn Hills Police Department at (248) 370-9444.
