Truck Driver Performs Heroic Act After Tragic Accident

Published:

Harris County, Texas State Troopers are currently trying to make a decision regarding charges for a truck driver who has admitted to causing an accident, which killed a young boy.

On Friday afternoon, of last week, the driver’s truck slammed into a silver Kia on Grand Parkway and Highway 290, killing 9-year-old Zachery Prill. According to witnesses, the driver was the first responder to the accident and played a major role in rescuing the remainder of the family.

The driver immediately jumped out of his cab, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and put out the flames.

One witness believes that the mother and 8-year-old daughter in the vehicle may have died had the fire not been put out before the emergency responders arrived.

The mother and daughter remain in the hospital, and are in serious condition.

The driver admitted to adjusting the radio and taking his eyes off of the road at the time of the accident.
