Truck Driver Wanted in Hit-and-Run Investigation Found Dead in His Truck

Published:

According to The Times-Picayune, a truck driver wanted for a hit-and-run accident was found deceased in his truck just hours after the accident.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the truck driver allegedly sideswiped a vehicle on Interstate 10 near Kenner, Louisiana. The driver of the sideswiped vehicle was okay, but the truck driver allegedly did not stop, instead the truck continued east on Interstate 10.

Ten hours later, a co-worker of the suspected hit-and-run driver found the truck pulled onto the shoulder of I-10 at Causeway Boulevard.  The co-worker went to check on the driver and found him deceased in his truck.

Authorities suspect that the driver suffered a medical episode that was the cause of the hit-and-run incident and his eventual death.

The driver’s name has not been released, and an autopsy is being performed to determine the driver’s cause of death.
