Truck Slides Into Train in Michigan

A truck driver is dead following a collision with a train.

The accident occurred on November 11, when Dana Edward LaPlante, 54, was driving westbound on River Road in Menominee County, Michigan.

On that day, the road were covered in ice and snow.  LaPlante’s truck approached the railroad crossing and he was unable to stop. According to Fox TV6, LaPlante tried to engage his brakes but his truck slid on the ice and collided with a Canadian National Railway train.

LaPlante was ejected from his truck.  He was taken to a hospital.

On Monday, LaPlante succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
