According to the Desert Dispatch, a Pilot Travel Center employee is behind bars after allegedly striking a truck driver with a broom.
The altercation allegedly began over a truck parking dispute. VVNG reports that the truck driver, 60-year-old Charles Nalley, had parked his truck in a no-parking zone and had gone into the store to make a purchase. The Pilot employees confronted Nalley and told him he needed to move his truck.
Nalley informed the Pilot employees that he was moving his truck as soon as he completed his purchase.
After Nalley completed his purchases, he went back to his truck. Pilot employee Kristopher Conrad Oliver, 30,allegedly followed Nalley to his truck and continued to argue with him and allegedly struck Nalley in the head with a wooden broom handle.
The incident occurred at the Pilot Travel Center on State Highway 58 near Victorville, California.
The police were called and Oliver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
Nalley suffered lacerations to his hands and a swollen eye, VVNG reported. He refused medical treatment.
