Woman Steals Driver’s Phone and GPS Then Tries to Sell It Back To Him

Published:

According to WYFF, a South Carolina woman stole a driver’s GPS and cellphone, then tired to sell them back to the driver.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at the Pilot on Highway 290 in Duncan, South Carolina.

The police report states that the woman, Tamera Bryant, 42, stole the Garmin GPS and the driver’s cellphone from the unlocked truck.  The driver went into the store to inquire about his stolen goods.  He was told that a woman had been seen leaving his truck while he was inside the store.

The driver then crossed the road to the TA truck stop to look for the woman.  As he was walking across the street, Bryant allegedly approached the driver and offered to sell him a GPS for $75.

“The report says the victim, believing the GPS and the cellphone Bryant were holding belonged to him, asked the manager to call his cellphone and when the manager did, the phone in Bryant’s hand began to ring, the report states. The victim then called police,” Group State reports.

Bryant allegedly told police that the phone and GPS belonged to her and that she was trying to sell them.

Authorities found out that Bryant had been banned from the truck stop multiple times in the past.  Bryant was arrested and charged with trespassing, petit larceny and car breaking.

The cellphone and GPS were returned to the driver.
