Happy Birthday To Jerry Reed

Published:

In celebration of the late Jerry Reed’s (March 20, 1937 – August 31, 2008) birthday, we’ve put together a little playlist!

Jerry Reed accomplished much in his lifetime, establishing himself as a guitarist, a songwriter, an actor, and a country music singer.

Some of his best-known songs include: “East Bound and Down” (the theme song for ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ – a film in which Reed co-starred), “Guitar Man,” “A Thing Called Love,” “Amos Moses”, “Alabama Wild Man,” “When You’re Hot, You’re Hot” (which earned a Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance), “Ko-Ko Joe”, “The Bird,” “Lord, Mr. Ford,” and “She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft).”

Rest in peace, Mr. Reed.

– Enjoy!
