Driver Uses Truck To Protect Woman Ejected From Car

Published:

A truck driver is credited with saving the life of a woman who was ejected from her car onto I-65 in Kentucky on Saturday (March 28).

A northbound black Chrysler Pacific crossed the median and hit the barrier, flipping into oncoming traffic, crashing into a Ford Explorer. The driver was ejected from her vehicle onto the road.

Truck Blocked Oncoming Traffic to Protect Accident Victims

Truck driver Mike McCuller, coming onto the scene, didn’t see the accident happen, but he did see the woman lying in the road and acted fast to use his truck to block two lanes of oncoming traffic in order to prevent further injury to her and the other crash victims.

McCuller says his thoughts are with the victims. “These looked like young people and it just got to me,” he said.

In all, 9 victims from the two vehicles were taken to the hospital with injuries. Southbound lanes of I-65 were shut down, but reopened after several hours.

Authorities have not yet said why the Chrysler crossed the median.
