Emergency Crews Respond To Reported Plane Crash, Discover Man Washing Jet Truck

Published:

Emergency crews in Springfield, Missouri responded to a resident’s report of a plane crash on Monday with four ambulances, three sheriff’s deputies, two highway patrol troopers, and a fire truck on Monday — only to learn that the noise and smoke was coming from the world’s fastest jet truck taking a bath.

Owner Neal Darnell had recently raced his truck “Shockwave” on a dirt course, meaning it was due for a washing on Monday. Part of Shockwave’s bathtime process involves firing up the 36,000-horsepower jet engines, making for such loud noises and so much smoke that Darnell’s new neighbors became alarmed and called the authorities.

No citations were issued as police determined that the 911 caller had acted on good faith.

Take a look at Shockwave, which can hit speeds of 376 m.p.h., in action in the video below!
