Hazmat Crews Find Truck Driver Dead In Sleeper

Published:

A Hazmat team in Salem, New Hampshire, found a truck driver dead in his sleeper after police noticed smells of gasoline and chemicals coming from the cab of his parked truck yesterday.

Police were called yesterday afternoon when Western Express contacted them to let them know that the truck driver’s family believed him to be suicidal. They then tracked the truck to a parking lot at the Mall at Rockingham Park. The curtain to the sleeper was closed. When they opened the door to the truck, the smell of strong chemicals overwhelmed them, so they were unable to go further into the truck to look for the driver.

Instead, they called Hazmat crews to investigate. The investigators found the deceased driver face down in his sleeper.

Police say they found no signs of foul play and they will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
