OOIDA Launches Website To Help Drivers Prepare For Medical Exams

Published:

OOIDA today announced the Association has launched a new online tool for truck drivers who are preparing for their DOT medical exams.

The D.O.T. Doc Website was developed to help drivers “be more informed when using the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners,” OOIDA said in a press release.

Since May 2014, the FMCSA requires all drivers’ DOT physicals to be performed by a practitioner from the FMCSA’s National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

OOIDA’s new website allows drivers to search the database for practitioners who are on the registry. In addition, the site allows drivers to submit reviews of medical examiners.

“This website will provide a variety of resources to help drivers prepare for a visit to a certified medical examiner,” OOIDA Director of Regulatory Affairs Scott Grenerth said.

The website also covers 10 topics to help drivers prepare for their exams.

“The topics are meant to ensure people don’t repeat mistakes others have made and to make sure the driver is as informed as possible before stepping into a doctor’s office,” he continued.

The website is: http://www.ooida.com/ReviewDoc
