Road Rage Motorist Who Attacked Truck Driver In Critical Condition

Published:

A Pennsylvania man is “clinging to life” after attacking a truck driver, then trying to hang on to the truck but falling off and hitting his head.

The incident happened in Ohio County, West Virginia. It started when two men who had been thrown out of Jill’s Gentleman’s Club began driving a pickup truck back and forth in front of the establishment. The driver of the pickup, Darren Decker, was drunk, according to police. Steven Barchetti was in the passenger’s seat.

Police believe that the pickup went left of center and crashed into a truck, tearing its mirror off. Barchetti then jumped out of the pickup, jumped on the running board, and began to attack the truck driver.

The truck driver says that he kept his door closed and slowly drove away to try to escape Barchetti. The trucker says he thought the man jumped off of his truck, but when authorities arrived on the scene, Barchetti was unconscious. He is now in the intensive care unit.

Decker, on the other hand, is out on bond after being charged with DUI and possession of marijuana.
