Truck Driver Escapes Without Injury When Tanker Explodes

A tanker carrying almost 10,000 gallons of fuel overturned in southern New Jersey, causing a massive fire that shut down both Route 90 and Route 130. The truck driver was pulled to safety from the crash without major injury, according to reports.

Tanker Erupts in New Jersey

The accident spewed heavy black smoke that was visible from as far as five miles away from the crash site. Firefighters used foam to fight the flames and were able to get them under control around 20 minutes after arriving on the scene.

Nearby southern New Jersey homes were evacuated. Authorities have no word yet on what might have caused the accident.
