Trucking Industry Gives Back To Chattanooga Victims’ Families

Published:

Please join Riverside Transport Inc. (RTI) as we stand together in mourning the loss of five of our nation’s heroes. These five heroes, Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, Staff Sgt. David Watt, Sgt. Carson Holmquist, Lance Cpl. Squire “Skip” Wells, and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith bravely pledged to protect and serve this great nation. Now it’s our turn to give back to those who vow to protect and serve.

RTI is hosting a fundraiser for the families of the 4 Marines and 1 sailor who lost their lives on July 16, 2015, as well as the family of police officer, Dennis Pedigo, who was shot and wounded. Come meet our local heroes and help us give back to these families by joining us on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Riverside Transport Inc., located at 5751 Cornelison Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, 37411.

Meet with local heroes: members of the military, police department, and fire department; tour our Armed Forces Pride Fleet; enjoy light refreshments; and give back to those who pledge to protect and serve our country. RTI has pledged $20,000 to help the families affected by this senseless tragedy.

Don’t have time to stop? That’s okay; we’ll have a drive-thru donation area set up. Simply drive up, grab a donut or a quick snack and drop off your donation.

Our goal is to raise at least $100,000. The five families who lost loved ones will each receive $10,000 in donations and the remaining donations will be divided between the National Military Family Association — a nonprofit that works to strengthen and protect military families through their advocacy, Operation Purple (R) Programs and military spouse scholarships and the Chattanooga Police Department.

Special thanks to Volvo, Peterbilt, Pilot Flying J, Ready Fleet, Walmart, Chick-Fil-A, Chattanooga Tent and 102.3 Talk Radio.

Now it’s our turn to give back to those who vow to protect and serve. Come and show your support!

If you can’t attend, you can still show your support by making a financial contribution on the Now It’s Our Turn website.  Donate $1, $5, or more– all donations are accepted!
