Woman Preying On Sleeping Drivers At Truck Stops

Published:

Washtenaw County authorities are warning truck drivers to double check their locks before going to sleep each night.

For the past month, a woman has been sneaking into unlocked trucks and stealing credit cards and cash out of the cab and drivers’ pants pockets.

So far, at least 12 truck drivers have fallen victim to the woman’s sticky fingers.

The thefts have occurred at the TA truck stop and the Pilot Travel Center off Baker Road in Scio Township in Michigan.

The suspect is described as an African American female in her 40s.

CDLLife spoke with Lt. King of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office. The office is urging drivers to keep their doors locked at all times and to keep possessions out of sight. The office is also encouraging drivers to be wary of their surroundings and report any suspicious activities.

If you have seen this woman, you’re asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office.
