Operation Safe Driver Week: Dates Announced For Enforcement Blitz

Law enforcement agents throughout North America will be on the prowl for unsafe driving behaviors in both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles from October 18-24 as part of the CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver Week.

Agencies throughout Canada, the U.S., and Mexico will increase enforcement on all vehicles in an attempt to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

Last year during the campaign, 59,080 truck drivers and motorists were pulled over for unsafe driving behavior. Federal and state investigators also used CSA scored to target motor carriers for on-site inspections last year.

1. Speeding

2. Failure to use a safety belt

3. Failure to obey traffic control devices

4.Improper lane change

5. Following too closely

In addition to increased enforcement, law enforcement will be working with the public to provide education to increase safe driving habits.
