The mobile app Trucker Path received $1.5 million from the Chinese holding company Renren to help expand services and to enter the Chinese market.
Trucker Path Looks for Opportunities to Improve the Trucking Industry
The makers of the Trucker Path app are clearly doing something right. They have surpassed 100,000 users and are enjoying 20% growth month-over-month. The app, which helps truck drivers find truck stops, rest stops, DOT weigh stations and more, is beta testing a new platform to connect its user base of professional truck drivers to shippers who need freight moved. Trucker Path hopes that this system will increase efficiency and reduce costs for both drivers and shippers.
Trucker Path Promises Economic and Social Change
Trucker Path also announced via their blog that they want to acquire a small to medium sized freight brokerage company and will “pay in full cash or a combination of cash + stock for the right brokerage company”.
Trucker Path‘s CEO Ivan Tsybaev released a statement in which he expresses a desire to make major changes in the trucking industry. He writes, “Our mission is to solve not only economic, but also social problems in the industry – truckers deserve to earn more, America needs to make trucking more appealing for the younger generation.”
