E-ZPass Warning Against Fraudulent Emails

Published:

According to E-ZPass, an international phishing scheme is being targeted at customers and non-customers.

The phishing scheme comes in the form of an email claiming to be from E-ZPass stating that the email receiver has a missed or unpaid toll.

To curb this phishing scheme, E-ZPass said it will mail all further notices to the registered vehicle owner’s address.

If you’ve received a similar email, you’re asked to contact E-ZPass Customer Service Center to verify the claims at 1-800-333-TOLL(8655).

The CyberCrimes Division of the FBI is aware of the issue. Anyone who has received this scam email and/or may have fallen victim to this is encouraged to file a complaint with the internet crime complaint center. http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
