The truck led police on a pursuit, repeatedly coming to a stop and waiting until officers approached with weapons drawn before inching forward and fleeing.

At 9:40, the truck stopped for the last time about 15 miles south of Barstow. Officers opened the truck door and yanked the driver out. He was injured but investigators did not elaborate on the nature of his injuries. He was transported to the hospital in an ambulance.

Police say that the woman inside the truck was able to escape at some point during the pursuit.

I-15 was shut down in both directions for over an hour during the pursuit while police attempted to talk to the truck driver on the phone.
