The FMCSA has ordered that Las Vegas, Nevada-based company: JDJD Transportation, LLC, (USDOT No. 2432071) immediately shut down after a federal investigation reviled an array of critical safety regulation violations.
JDJD Transportation was operating three tractor-trailers, hauling machinery, heavy equipment, and metal across the southwestern United States.
In January of 2015, a compliance investigation of JDJD Transportation was conducted by the FMCSA during which the following violations were found: Failure to ensure driver compliance with fatigue-preventing HOS regulations (this includes limitations driving and on-duty hours). In the midst of the investigation, it was realized that JDJD Transportation had failed to maintain copies of their drivers’ records and had no safety management system in place to measure and manage driver compliance.
JDJD Transportation also failed to ensure that their drivers had valid CDL’s and had not taken the necessary steps to be sure they were qualified to operate a CMV. None of the JDJD drivers had been tested for drug or alcohol use, and there was no drug/alcohol testing program in place.
The company had also failed to inspect, maintain, and repair their commercial vehicles, the company maintained no inspection records, and was not requiring their drivers to conduct pre-trip or post-trip inspections on their 15-30 year-old vehicles.
In the past nine-months, JDJD Transportation has been subject to nine roadside inspections – during all but two of those inspections, there were multiple safety violations that had been discovered.
The company has been declared an imminent public safety hazard.
Violation of an imminent hazard out-of-service order, or operating without authority and a USDOT number can result in fines up to $60,000 as well as criminal penalties with fines up to $25,000 (with imprisonment not to exceed one year).
