Truck Driver Found Dead At Hope, Arkansas Scales

The Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death for a truck driver who was found at the Hope, Arkansas east scales.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a call was put in on Tuesday (February 17th) afternoon regarding a body that had been found in a truck at near the scales. First responders included the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department, Pafford EMS, and the Arkansas Highway Police.

Ray Azlin had contacted the Arkansas Highway police wondering if his 44-yesr-old son Anthony had been at the scales. According to the police report, Ray had last heard from Anthony at 9:00 PM on Monday – at which time Anthony stated that he was at Hope’s east scales.

Authorities checked the lot, located Azlin’s truck, and knocked on the passenger door. At that time Azlin was spotted inside, and hadn’t been roused by the persistent knocking. First responders then knocked out the window of the truck and discovered that Azlin was completely unresponsive.

Anthony Azlin was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has been transported to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in an effort to determine the cause of death which is still currently under investigation.
