Truck Driver Hits Ice And Crashes Into Pizza Shop

Published:

Another reason to be careful out there in wintery conditions: 61 year-old truck driver James Mitchell hit a patch of ice, which caused him to crash into a concrete barrier in West Brunswick Township. After he hit the barrier, he lost control of his truck and hit a parked car before he crashed into Russo’s Pizza Den, destroying the dining room but leaving the restaurant’s kitchen intact.

Icy Conditions Cause Truck Driver to Lose Control

The accident caused the restaurant’s roof to collapse onto the driver’s truck. Mitchell was unfortunately injured during the accident but is expected to recover after being rescued from his rig by the fire department. The owner of Russo’s Pizza Den says that he will rebuild and reopen his restaurant. There are no reports as to whether Mitchell will be charged for the accident.
