Trucker Rescues Motorist From Burning Vehicle

Published:

A truck driver is being called a hero after he rescued a motorist from a flaming car on I-95 in Jacksonville on July 2.

Truck driver Julian Kaczor was headed to Deerfield to make a delivery when a Ford Five Hundred passed him, driving so quickly that it almost clipped the from on Kaczor’s truck. The motorist then lost control in a construction zone when he tried to change lanes. The car slammed into a concrete barrier.

Kaczor stopped to check on the driver, but as he did, the car began to smoke and caught fire. Kaczor tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher from his rig, but he was unable to douse the flames. Acting fast, Kaczor forced open the door and dragged the driver 15 -20 feet from the burning car.

By this time, another truck driver stopped to help. Both truck drivers carried the motorist to safety. The second truck driver left the scene without leaving his name.

The car driver, Henry Christopher Bell, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
