After an investigation into the disappearance of a truck driver, police discovered his body in a truck stop in Butts County.
Police were suspicious of foul play after driver Lisle Eugene Harris of Indiana appeared not to have moved from 9 a.m. until they came to his truck to do a welfare check around 6 p.m. yesterday. The fact that the truck was still running and Harris’s phone was still inside was considered suspicious.
Butts County Sheriff’s Major Darrell Powers said around 12:30 today that Harris’s body was found at the truck stop where he was parked in an area that had apparently not been searched before. Though he appears to have died of natural causes, the case is still under investigation.
