Woman Who Blamed Trucker In Fatal Crash Arrested

Published:

The woman who accused a trucker of causing a fatal 5 vehicle crash on Sunset Road in Las Vegas last week has been arrested and is facing felony charges.

Initially, authorities were searching for a truck driver after a woman involved in the crash claimed that a large white truck hit her SUV and caused the multi-vehicle accident that killed 39-year-old Christine Robinson. However, surveillance video and testimony from witnesses later revealed that the trucker was not involved in the crash.

Investigators determined that 39-year-old Angela Bashay was driving over 81 m.p.h. when she crashed into the rear of Robinson’s vehicle.

Bashay was arrested yesterday and charged with reckless driving involving death.

Bashay and one other woman suffered minor injuries because of the crash.

You can see Bashay and her father tell her side of the story of the crash in the news report below.
