“Top Gear” Host Fired For Attacking Production Staff

Published:

“Top Gear” host Jeremy Clarkson is out of a job after physically and verbally attacking one of the show’s producers.

Clarkson Physically & Verbally Assaulted Producer

The BBC announced Wednesday that they would not renew Clarkson’s contract after their investigation into the attack, during which Clarkson struck producer Oisin Tymon. Clarkson also used the “strongest expletives” and threatened to fire Tymon. The attack was said to be provoked by the fact that hot food was not provided after the day’s filming. Tymon left the hotel where the incident took place thinking that he was fired.

Clarkson Had History Of Controversial Behavior

Many in the trucking industry will recall the incendiary remarks that Clarkson made about truck drivers in 2008. The BBC received hundreds of complaints after Clarkson joked about truck drivers killing prostitutes. Labor MP Chris Mole even called the comments a “dismissable offense”.

Because of the enormous popularity that “Top Gear” enjoys worldwide, many are speculating that Clarkson will be approached by a rival broadcaster or an international broadcasting company soon.
