Walmart Settles Lawsuit With Tracy Morgan

Published:

Walmart has settled the lawsuit with actor Tracy Morgan for an undisclosed amount.

The lawsuit was filed by Morgan after a Walmart truck slammed into his limousine on the New Jersey Turnpike in June of 2014. The lawsuit claimed that the truck driver, Kevin Roper, had fallen asleep while speeding, causing the crash. It also said that Roper had not slept for over 24 hours. Investigators say that Roper failed to slow for the traffic ahead of him and tried to swerve to avoid a crash but ended up hitting Morgan’s limo, instead.

Another passenger in the limo, James ‘‘Jimmy Mack’’ McNair, was killed during the accident. Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken leg, and severe brain trauma during the crash.

Roper is still facing criminal charges for his role in the accident, including “death by auto”. He has entered a “not guilty” plea.

Walmart’s CEO has said that he was” deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved.”

Morgan is still recovering and has recently been seen walking with a cane.
