Lytx Offers New “Always On” Camera System

Published:

Today Lytx introduced a new system that will allow carriers to outfit their trucks with “always on”cameras.

The new system, dubbed Unisyn, is designed to compliment the Lynx’s already widely utilized DriveCam exception-based video system. According to Lynx CEO Brandon Nixon, “In DriveCam, we’re focusing on the driver, and with Unisyn our primary focus is the fleet operations.

Unisyn will allow carriers to access video in real time or for up to seen days after an incident occurs. The Unisyn system allows carriers to customize their camera configuration to include forward-facing, in-cab, cargo interior, rear view, dock/warehouse, side view, and side mirror video.

The resulting video then becomes instantly available via cloud-based technology for access by almost any cloud connected device (like a smart phone).

The Unisyn system will also allow carriers to add video tags during certain customizable events, including each time a cargo door opens, each time a passenger enters or exits the cab of the truck, speeding, G-Force motion, or at specific locations or times. The video tags make it easier for carriers to access specific video segments.

DriveCam is already in place in over 600,000 fleets, according to a recent release from Lytx.
