Rand McNally Introduces Affordable ELD To Keep Smaller Fleets Legal

Published:

Yesterday Rand McNally introduced a smart phone friendly electronic logging device system designed to be a cost-effective way for medium and small fleets to comply with federal regulations.

The new device, the DC 200, is designed to connect with existing Android phones. The DC 200 “features a single Y cable, which plugs into a truck’s J-Bus port. Once paired with an Android device, the DC 200 enables drivers to view logs and driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) and more through the Rand McNally DriverConnect app.” The device does not use data from the Android phone.

The device also contains a multi-mode cell modem which allows carriers to message drivers and to track trucks in real time.

Both American and Canadian Hours of Service regulations are supported by the device.

The DC 200 device will be available for purchase later this year at a cost of $399.99. The monthly subscription cost will be $24.99 and $29.99, depending on selected features.
